    Unless company policy is to pay a per diem that is within the guidelines for the city visited.

    I've always preferred to require receipts for everything as a company policy; makes everything cleaner all around.

    Anybody have experience or knowledge about how the DLSE enforces/guides itself in implementing CA 2802? Haven't seen anything in the enforcement manual.

    While enforcing CA 2802, does DLSE require receipts or do they also evaluate "reasonable" expenses for a given employment situation before arriving at what an employee should be reimbursed for. For example, an employee goes on an extended business trip and does not have receipts to cover all the costs while away on business (lets assume she did not keep all receipts and the receipts she has are a lot less than what a business trip would cost. To exemplify further, lets say she goes on a business trip for 5 days to NYC and has receipts only to cover $150 in costs. And this $150 has not been paid by the employer and hence she files a claim with DLSE). Would the DLSE enforce reimbursement by saying that $150 is not enough to cover such a trip (As stated in the claim filed by employee) or will they consider that as long as she is paid against receipts, there is no further claim?
