  • California - AWS for part time employees?

We have a specific section of work for the company that has adopted an AWS schedule of 9 hour days with a split Friday that alternates with a Friday off. The set schedule is 7-1130, 1230-5 Monday - Thursday and 7-11, 12-4 on alternating Fridays. The majority of the employees are full time, but there are some part time employees. They have elected to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday each week and work the same schedule as the full time workers on those days. Are these employees able to work 9 hours in a day without incurring OT, as long as they come in and leave at the same schedule? Or do they have to be paid OT for the one hour over 8?

I have found some information that indicates that the PT employees should be able to work that schedule, as long as they are considered for OT the same as a FT employee (ex.-working outside those hours, working on scheduled days off).
