  • Employer reduced hourly rate before informing me California

I stepped down from my position at work, and my employer also reduced my hourly rate. This was my first day at a lower position, and my employer did not inform me of the rate reduction until I was already mid-shift. I can't find anything in writing on how this is a violation of labor law. Thanks

They have the right to change your pay. It sounds like they let you know a littly late, but since you "stepped down" from your position, you probably had reason to know your pay would change.

You may a case to get paid for the first few hours of your shift at your old pay rate, but really, is this worth fighting about?
