    We have a parent company in California with a satellite office & one employee in Connecticut.
    What labor laws are to be followed? The payroll is run in California.

    The laws of the state in which the employee lives and work apply. So for your lone Connecticut employee, CT law applies; for the remainder, CA law does.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
