  • Too many hours (PA)

Occasionally we have a large job at my job in the construction industry. My immediate supervisor seems to think those below him should have the same dedication he does. Periodically he tryies to require 7 twelve hour days a week for up to a few weeks at a time. When one of us tries to take a day off we are threatened with termination. Is this legal? Are there a minimum hours that one must work in a week to be able to refuse hours? Help! Another big job is coming up soon.

Yes, it is legal. Refusing to work mandatory overtime can be grounds for termination is the employer so chooses, and you would have no legal recourse.|#5
