  • Missouri EMPLOYEE MANUAL parameters

For employees hired under the parameters of a specific employee manual (listing employment guidelines, vacation terms, holiday/personal time away, inner-office benefits, etc), can an employer 'change, adjust or tweak' the manual in the middle of your employment, or would that 'new' manual be effective for new employees only? THANK YOU!

In the absence of a binding contract that says otherwise, and very few employee handbooks reach the level of a contract, any changes to company polices are binding on ALL employees, not just new employees.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
