  • Is this legal - Kentucky?

My husband works for a very demanding company. He has now been at work 30 hours and has not been permitted to leave the premises or stop work for a lunch break or a rest break. This is not uncommon at his company.
Is this illegal or just incredibly inhumane?

    Unfortunately, it is not illegal.

May my employer require that I work more than eight hours per day? There is no limitation on the number of hours that your employer can require you to work in a day.

It's stupid and very likely, unsafe. But illegal, no.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

KY law does require rest and meal breaks as defined in the link Patty provided. Otherwise, yes, it's stupid but legal.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
