  • New York overtime

I am from New York and I recently started a job as a truck driver.
My regular hours are 7-5, however since I started last week I have
worked overtime every day, usually leaving the job around 6:30 or 7. My
employer stated that there is no overtime at this job, only straight pay for
any extra hours. Is this legal?

    Overtime for Truck Drivers

Some truck drivers are exempted from overtime. You can look at the following website for a thorough explanation: http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/compliance/whd/whdfs19.htm
