Strictly up to your company. There is no law that requires employees be given two days off in a row.

Yes, you may legally break up his days off. Nothing in the law of any state requires that an employee be given two days off in succession.

    Days off

Quick question. I am a supervisior in the state of NY and I have a FT employee who has asked to have his days off broken up. Normally he works Thur-Mon with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Can I full fill his request and break his off days up? For example instead of Tue/Wed make it Mon/Fri or Wed/Sun. Normally all of my employees work 5 days and have back to back days off. I just want to be assured I am not doing anything wrong by fullfilling his request. I checked my company handbook and it makes no mention of having days off back to back.
    Thanks.
