  • Not getting paid

I am new to this forum and was hoping to have a few questions answered.
I am an Independent Contractor and I have a client who is in Il. and I was wondering- can they legally hold my money (property) and if so- would someone show me the law that allows that?
If not, what can I do about my situation?
the work was completed to their satisfaction.
    thank you.

As an independent contractor, the payment terms are governed strictly by your contract/agreement. If you are not an employee the wage payment laws do not apply to you. You should get a local attorney versed in contract law to review your agreement in its entirety.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
