    can an employee's postion be demoted and pay decreased with out having any write ups in there file.

    for example the director will become a teacher with teacher pay. about $29.00 an hour down to $15.00 an hour.

    Yes, it can. Nothing in the law of any state requires that you be written up before you can be demoted OR be given a pay decrease.

    All that is required is that you be given notice of hte decrease before you work any hours at the lower rate.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
