  • hostile work enviroment??

    In the state of California..

I am a sales mgr and the owner of the company keeps changing prices after I have made deals with the customers, is this okay? and he calls and screams at me all the time, calling me names etc even though i am write one of the biggest territory for sales numbers. Also, I am gay, and I let people in the office joke about it, its not a big deal , however when my office manager made a joke to my HR manager about me bringing a date to the xmas party and it would be a guy the HR manager told her she should "forgive" those of us who arent normal. Is all this okay? I am a very laid back easy going guy, my clients love me but I am starting to dread going to work now.

Well, no, it's not okay. But I don't see it as being enough to create a hostile work environment, either.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
