i currently work full time for a convenience store in tx. but recently i have too much to do: school and gym. i was thinking of requesting less hours a day to get enough rest, even if it means being classified as part time. could my employer deny me this request? or

i used to work graveyard, but with a new boss and people leaving left and right, i now have a mixed schedule, 1st and 3rd shift withing the same week. i let them know my out of work schedule so they know when i can work and when i can't, could i demand to have a fixed schedule to work?

You cannot demand any specific hours. That is the employer's perogative. You can ask. Politely. However, the employer is free to deny your request or even to let you go if you cannot work the hours necessary.
