  • Employers deducting from pay

My 20 year old son is currently working in a fast food restaurant in Ontario Canada. He has been there just short of three months and has found some problems that we would like to look into further. While working as a cashier, he is held fully responsible for any shortages at the end of the night, and any amounts short are even deducted from his pay. The problem is, my son is not the only person with access to the register during the shift. Can he be held solely responsible?

This site is normally limited to U.S. Law only. If someone who happens to know Canadian labor law happens across your question, I'm sure they will answer, but I would not be optimistic.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
