  • Ocurrance policy

I am a full time Salaried employee for a large corporation in the state of Ohio. I am extremely purturbed at the fact that they've recenly implemented an ocurrance policy for just my department in regards to attendence. If I am late 3 minutes I receive a half ocurrance, if I am late more than 4 hours or out a complete day I receive a whole ocurrance, these ocurrances stay on my record for a rolling 12 month period. Once I accrue 3 ocurrances I get a verbal warning, 4 is a written and then another written follows, at 8 mandatory termination. As a full time salaried employee I feel this is BS, they constantly need me to stay late, come in early, skip lunches and breaks with absolutely no benefit or recognition. Is this legal?

    Thanks in advance.

    Is this legal? Completely.

I don't agree with your employer's new attendance policy but there's absolutely nothing illegal about it.
