  • paycheck deduction for missing money

    I'm in florida.
Recently there has been money missing from the register at our small smoothie business. The owner decided to assign one person to the register, and change it out after every shift. He counts out the money and if there is money missing, has decided to take it out of the paycheck of whoever was working the register (even if it is only some $2, etc). I was wondering what the laws were regarding this type of happening.
    Thanks!

    Deductions

Yes, it is legal as long as the employee is still at minimum wage or higher after the deduction.
