  • Calling in sick in Nevada

The company I work for provides a certain number of sick days per year, but you must work there for one year first, which I haven't. So if I call in sick, you would think that the world exploded. My employers keep telling the employees that they are going to write us up for calling in or take other action. I am trying to find out what they legally can do as far as penalizing me (or any other staff) for calling in. Since we are an at-will state, I know I can be fired for anything. I had to call in this past Mon and Tue due to strep throat (I work at a day care center and didn't want to get any of the kids sick) and my employers have put such fear into me that I was SCARED to call in!! Any advice or suggestions on how to deal with these situations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

There isn't any regulation that would restrict your employer from having such a policy.
