  • Colorado Labor Laws - How long can I work?

I am a delivery driver for a local Denver company. Got to work at 5:30 A.M. (5/19/05) and worked until 2:30 (5/20/05) A.M. the next morning. During my entire shift I had to drive the delivery truck, and deliver the merchandise to people's homes. I work on commission based pay, and was wondering what the laws are for a situation such as this. Thanks

First, there are DOT and OSHA laws about how long you can drive a truck or commercial vehicle without a break. You sound like you are a owner-contractor, so be careful. You should keep logs of your driving if you are not. Contact CO Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Commercial Driving section to ask.
