  • what happens in child support court if the father is in jail?

    Hello.

I am a single mother, and I have a court date coming up for the father but he recently got arrested. I was trying to find out if there was a new law that says that if they are in jail when you get your 1st. hearing that they will not give you the set price for the child support. I heard that now in the state of Florida that they will postpone all of this until they get out. If so what happens if they go to prison?

    thank you!

These forums are for employment law. You will need to post your question in the family law section.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
