  • Docking pay in OH

Can an employer dock hours or money from a pay period for poor performance? For example can an employer dock pay from an employee for the time it takes another employee to correct a mistake or re-do a poorly done job? Also can an employer dock pay for materials that are damaged or or ordered wrong by an employee?

    Docking of Pay

It cannot dock an employee for poor performance unless the employee has agreed to such an arrangement. Even with that, the employee must earn at least minimum wage. As far as docking for mistakes, it can as long as the employee is making minimum wage after the dock. Preferably, the employee has agreed to the dock.
