does a employer need to pay me if i am required to attend a mandatoy meeting in the state of california? and if so what is the pay rate?

    Mandatory Meeting

It depends on the nature of the meeting and the nature of your job. For example, if you are required to attend training required to maintain a state license, such as with an EMT, it is not necessary. If you are an exempt employee, you do not need to be paid for that time. If you are an hourly non-exempt employee and the meeting is a general business meeting, perhaps you may need to be.
