  • This is a promotion in PA?

I was "promoted" last year to a salary exempt position. I realize that this means I get to work all the overtime I want for free. However, I want to know the labor laws for PA concerning these types of positions. I still get only a certain amount of sick days and personal days, and my pay gets docked if I go over that amount of days just like every other worker here. So what did I gain by this "promotion?" What do the PA labor laws say about salary exempt workers?

    Exempt Employee

There are some benefits to being exempt. For example, you can not have your pay reduced for partial days of work. You can read more about exempt employees at: http://www.dli.state.pa.us/landi/cwp...34#definitions (for Pennsylvanis) and for US at: http://www.dol.gov/esa/regs/complian...a_overview.htm
