    undefinedundefinedundefined
MY HUSBAND WORKS FOR A BIG RETAIL COMPANY. HE'S BEEN WITH THEM AS OF NEXT MONTH FOR 8 YEARS. THE PROBLEM IS HE HAS A HARD TIME GETTING HIS BOSS TO GIVE HIM LUNCH BREAKS.ACTUALLY HE GETS NO BREAKS. HE HAS ADDRESSED THIS WITH HIS H.R. BUT SHE DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE.
WHAT RIGHTS DOES HE HAVE AND WHAT ARE THE LAWS FOR CALIFORNIA?

    Salaried Exempt

If your husband is an exempt employee, there are no requirements for breaks and lunches.

        Exempt

As a salaried employee, is he getting overtime? An explanation of exempt vs. non-exempt and the impact of the status on meal periods and rest periods may be found at: http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/FAQ_Overtime.htm and http://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/DLSE-FAQs.htm
