  • Florida labor laws and mandatory meetings outside work hours Florida

I work in a hospital setting. I have just received a phone message that there is a mandatory meeting in 24 hours. It is outside my working hours and I have previous plans. I realize that employers are within their rights to call such meetings, but is there any regulation about required notice for mandatory meetings? This is the 6th time I have been called to work on my off days for meetings and I am beginning to resent my employer for demanding my time outside my schedule.

If anyone could help it would be appreciated. Or supply a link for me to provide supporting documentation of such policies if they exist.

No, there are no laws requiring any particular notice for mandatory meetings.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
