    If a terminated employee turns in unpaid expenses 4 months after being terminated, is the company obligated to pay them? This AZ employee quit, returned but did not sign a "Final Wage Statement" and 4 months later is submitting about $3k worth of expenses. For what it's worth, our Employee Handbook states all expenses must be turned in 30 days after they are incurred. From the little I could find, it seems AZ does not have much to say about work-related expenses. Any assistance would be appreciated.

    There are only two states where an employer is obligated by law to pay expenses at all. Arizona is not one of those two states.

    It's going to come down to what you as an employer have agreed to.
    The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.

      Maybe. Not all law is labor law. If the employee had posted the opposite side of the question, the advice would be something like "file a small claims action, it works or it does not".
