  • Salaried Employee Docked Pay? Florida

    Couple of questions:

    1) Can a salaried employee not be payed company vacation time like everyone else? Employer said employee was on a 90 day probationary period.

    2) Can a salaried employee be docked a days pay because a VP determines they wanted them to go to the office as opposed to go to the airport to try to catch an early flight to a customer site? Employee spent 12 hours either in the airport working on laptop or in flight to customer site, yet got docked a days wage.

State of Florida - not sure if that matters.

    Thanks

Salaried is only a pay method and means nothing in and of itself. Are you exempt or non-exempt?
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
