  • Days worked in a row - Exempt California

How many days can exempt employees work without a day off?

Thanks in advance for any information that you are able to give me.

CA has what is laughably called a "one day in seven" rule, which in theory means employees are supposed to have off one day in seven. However read the fine print and it is really a "four days off every twenty eight days
rule. The labor code reference is 551-558.

Past that, I have heard, but never bothered to confirm that CA-DLSE does not enforce this rule with Exempt employees. Might be true. Might not be true.
