  • Question on forced commute. Alabama

I was just notified that I have been moved from my current bank's branch to one that is at least 30 miles away. They have given me a $0.50 raise, but that doesn't even compensate for the gas mileage/maintenance of my car. Are there any laws against such a thing, or am I just stuck w/ it? I've worked at this location before and got reimbursed for mileage, but only because it wasn't my usual location. However, now that I am being forced to, they say that I cannot be reimbursed.

There is nothing illegal with moving you to a branch 30 miles away & they do not have to reimburse you for mileage. Sorry.
