  • Laid-off Michigan

I got laid-off on 12-17-08. On 01-21-09 I got in the mail a document from my employer that is an amendment to their "Reinstatement Policy". In short, it says "A lay-off that lasts more than 3 months will be considered a termination of employment. If an employee is terminated and then rehired, he/she will be required to satisfy a new introductory period in order to be eligible for benefits."
My question is, since the new policy did not go into affect until after I was laid-off, do I go by the new policy or the old policy.

You'll have to ask the employer. The law is silent on such issues.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
