  • Shareholder Unemployment Georgia

I have an S-Corp in Georgia in which i am 50% shareholder. As of right now, the company is not doing all that well. We havent shown a profit in months. My question is: if the corporation is unable to pay my salary, or the corporation files chapter 11 or 7, am I eligible for unemployment benefits?

Did you report your wages and pay UI tax on them?
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.

Yes. UI was paid on my wages. I have seen on other sites that shareholders are not eligible for unemployment, so I was unsure. Also, does the corp have to be shut down to get it, or if the corporation does not have the funds to pay the shareholders salaries?
