  • Break in the restaurant business California

My question is about break times. We are all working 6-8 hour shifts and we are required to take our breaks within the first 30 minutes we are in the building and then work the rest without a break is this legal?

    Probably not legal.

Don't take what I have to say as 100% fact, I couldn't tell you where I read it but it was somewhere in the labor code...

I read something about a minimum of 3 hours worked before a lunch can be given. Don't quote me, but I did read it somewhere official and not just a random online article. Wish I knew where. Hope that helps your search!
