  • do i have any grounds for compensation? Florida

I worked for an armored car company for about 8 months when i was taken to the police station for questioning about some missing money from my routes (i was not being charged but i took a poly graph and was compliant anyway). The company i worked for suspended me without pay pending the investigation. I tried to make contact with both the police station and job with no information. I took this as a loss and eventually found new employment. About a year later, right before i was to be deployed to Iraq (military reservist) i was arrested and charged with 2 counts of grand theft. I had four trial dates over a years period of time; it was always delayed because 1 key witness never showed up (coincidentally the manager who brought this action against me) and changing of judges. finally, last month i was found not guilty and the case was dismissed. i was wondering if i can file a suit against my employer or make a claim? because during the time i was let go to right now, i had to endure financial hardship. i was without work for months at a time, with two pending felonies hanging over my head-i went be a dishwasher. this also made the military was hard on me for while, they even went as far as to put papers to dishonorably discharge me. this was at least until the military courts found me not guilty as well. the only reason the police detective pursued me was because there was lack of funding? i was the ONLY one investigated. im trying to get this over with before i deploy in the end of the year. any advice will be grateful

You need to talk to a lawyer.

There isn't much an employment law board can do for you.

I assume you had a lawyer defending you - did you ask them what you might be able to do?
