  • employer work schedule change Hawaii

I was informed earlier in the week that we were going to start flexing our work days just for this week, working 4 (9hr. days) and 1 (4hr. day). My supervisor also stated that there will be no overtime.
Well, today on our short day, he stated that they put in a request for overtime and implied that it was mandatory for us to work it.
Can they make schedule changes like that with such short notice? Someone told me that they have to give you 72 hours notice on a schedule change. if that is true, where could I find that information???

Yes, they can make "last minute changes" to a work schedule. There is no 72 hr. notice law (or any notice law) that I am aware of unless you have a binding employment contract that requires notice.
