  • cut in pay Florida

My son-in-law is the manager of a resturant. He had to laid off some people due to it being slow. Now the owner has cut his pay by $5.oo an hour. This is in Florida. I want to know if it is legal for the owner to do this. he is now doing more work than he normally has to do.

Yes, it's legal. Also, in Fl. no advance notice of the reduction is necessary.

They can't pay someone below min. wage though.

Do you know if your son is an exempt employee?

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
