  • PRN mileage reimbursement Louisiana

I am a PRN employee for a non profit agency in Louisiana. I am required to drive quite a bit for my job on a weekly basis. My boss denied me mileage reimbursement along with several other PRN employees, but other PRN employees who live farther away were allowed to claim mileage and be reimbursed according to the federal rate. Am I allowed to claim mileage as a PRN employee (nothing in the policy handbook regarding this issue)?

Only California requires employees to be reimbursed for business related exepenses.

I don't understand why or how your company differentiates between folks doing the same job to pay some and not others.

Since this is not something that will violate labor laws, it can only be solved by addressing it with the company.

You may, of course, track your expenses and try to take them off your taxes. You won't get all your money back, but might reduce your tax burden a bit.
