You can rehire employees at any time, but be aware that you run the risk of bad feelings and poor morale if you start immediately hiring after a lay off.

1.) Whenever you need to. Contrary to popular belief, there is no law that you have to wait x amount of time before you can rehire or hire new employes.

2.) Since you have under 100 employees, the WARN act does not apply, and Maryland's state plant closing laws only apply if 15 employees or 25% of the workforce are being laid off, no. You only have to make sure that you do not violate Title VII and other related laws in selecting which employees go.

    Layoffs Maryland

If you are a private company with 51 employees and you are conducting a layoff of 12 employees, when can you begin hiring new employees after the layoff? Also, are there laws that we should follow when we layoff more than 10% of our work force?
