  • 13 too young to work? Florida

Can I legally apply for a job in a deli, using a slice machine and handling meat products? How many hours/week? What documentation do I need? Thank you

    http://www.state.fl.us/dbpr/reg/chil...upations.shtml

"No minor under 18 years of age, whether such person’s disabilities of non-age have been removed, shall be employed or permitted to work in the hazardous occupations listed below. ... Operating power-driven meat and vegetable slicing machines"

    -------

Past that, it appears that 13 years is too young to work at all acording to both Florida and U.S. law.

Nope - they would get in trouble if they hired you & it's too dangerous.
