    What is typical of some people here for a person being laid off in Massachusetts working as an engineer with salary of say $75,000 ?

    Can I hear some people's stories.

    Does it depend on industry (semiconductor, software etc), how long you worked there, salary, degree ?

    Seems a lot of engineers getting laid off.

    I want a ballpark number on what people are getting.

    By the way, it is the semiconductor industry.

    What are you asking? Getting for what? Severance? Unemployment? Salary at a new job?

      It varies far too much from company to company to give you anything like a ballpark figure. It depends on the company, the industry, the reason for the layoff, the employee, the past policy, how much money the company has available, whether the company is even staying in business, length of time employee has been with the company, shall I go on?

      For that matter, severance is only required in MA under very limited circumstances (which I outlined in the post you hijacked). There's no guarantee that you'll be getting any severance at all.
