  • On call Michigan

We have recently been told that we will be on call 24-7 with one hour to respond to the call and are expected to report. There is no compensation for being on call is this legal?

Probably. Unless your personal activities are severely restricted as to time and geographic location, and the frequency of actual calls is occasional, the "on-call" time does not require payment.

Of course, if you are an exempt employee, it never requires additional pay.
What do you do? And how often are you "on-call"? Does the on-call at least rotate from employee to employee?
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
