  • Commision Va Virginia

Hi, I work for a large Home builder in Va. I make 1%, well actually .5% (because I have an onsight partner) for every home sold. I also have a commisionable draw. Last monday they announced that if the homeowners contracts were not completed 100% when turned in we would be docked 500.00 each time. Not saying we shouldn't be on our A game but we're talking every t crossed and such for over 40 pages. Since I've been there 100% are rare and usually met with a standing ovation. People screw up after 5 hours of stroking a client. Can they do that? Just dock money for mistakes. And what about coming in on time off. Meetings are always on my day off and I've been told over and over again I need to "take it for the team". I'm sure I'd be fired for something imaginary if I didn't show, but it seems odd to me.

    Thanks so much!!

They can probably do this. Commissions in nearly all states (except California) are very loosely regulated, if at all, regarding what the agreement/plan may do.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
