  • background check - new hires

We have always kept background checks separate from the personnel folders (they usually just get filed away by year). Should background checks for hired employees be kept in the file?

    Thanks.

Per my reference background checks should not be filed in a personnel file/folder. You have to be particularly careful of those containing criminal hx checks. Background checks should be filed in separate files/folders.
