  • 4 day work week & holidays - Arizona

    Hello,
I am researching the option of our company going to 4 day work weeks - thus 10 hour days. One of the options we are looking at is making Monday the day off to save on some of the Monday holidays - is there anything saying we would still have to pay for those Monday holidays thus not really creating a savings?

There is no law requiring holiday pay for private employers at all.

Be ready for push-back from the employees though. In a holiday week with a Monday, they only had to work 32 hours; now they'll have to work 40 hours in that week for the same pay.

The only thing you're saving is the cost of the office being open, utilities, basically. Still have a 40-hour workweek.
I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
