  • Salary position with a spin on commission Indiana

I was hired last week at a company that posted in the paper salary plus commission. We were to paid every other Monday and that did not happen. When I asked were our checks were the manager/owner stated we did not get paid unless we met certain goals for the 2 week period. We did sign paper work that stated we were to get paid this salary, but nothing was signed stating we had to meet these goals, that to be honest were out of anyones grasp. I also asked about the first 3 days of training if we were to even get paid for that and no answer was available. I was terminated yesturday because I was upset that the information about our pay was very misleading and that nobody would return my calls to explian this situation. Do I have any rights what so ever!

Most jobs require a minimum pay. But there are a few exceptions. What are your job duties? Were you an "outside salesman"?

If you are not outside sales and/or have written documentation, then I suggest you file a wage claim with your state wage department.

      Back at you

I was an ouside salesman, but I did sign a contract for a set amount of salary to be paid everyother week. The reason for this salary was if for that week or two sales did not exceed my commission amount then I could fal back on a salary to punch me through.

I would go ahead & file a wage claim & see what happens.
