  • Texas breech of contract (verbal) Texas

I was hired by a radio station to do a morning show and we agreed (verbally) on $2000,00 a month (for a 4 hour airshift).
Several weeks after starting work, the woman who hired me said she was hiring someone else to do mornings but that I could work a 5 hour 7-12 p.m. shift for $350.00 per month less. The new hire was this womans brother in law.
Do I have a hope of taking this to court for the missing $350.00, based on our original verbal agreement?

I seriously doubt you have a case - verbal agreements aren't worth much, if anything. I would say no, you have no case. It would be her word, against your word. It wasn't illegal for her to change your hrs. & pay w/o a written contract to the contrary. Sorry.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
