    A portion of my company was sold to another company. We have heard that we are barred from going back to our former employer for 24 months. Are such arrangements allowed and legal? I have also heard from new human resources department that under "do no harm" we are allowed to apply freely to open requisitions at any company. This transaction and agreement crosses most of the 50 states so it is not limited to one jurisdiction. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
