Does anybody here work in hr?

Can an employee be in trouble or fired if they have a relationhip with another employees spouse, whether it is online or in person if that other employee finds out about it? Outside of work and no verbal confrontation, no physical confrontaton, etc...DOESNT THIS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKPLACE BECAUSE THERE IS NO CONFRONTATION (VERBAL/PHYSICAL), NO MESSAGES SENT OR HARRASSING, ETC...?

Yes, an employee will be in trouble or fired if they have a relationship with another employee's spouse but it depends on company policy.
If you think that the relationship should be ended because of troubles, then maintain professionalism and assure you won’t disrupt the workplace. You mustn’t badmouth the former partner, destroy their work or reveal any confidential details. All these break the code of conduct about honor in the workplace then you will face disciplinary action. If the former partner works this way, then report to HR.

A little late, but usually it becomes an issue when the drama is brought to work. Honestly it shows bad judgement if nothing else. And I would not speak with them about any work related issues at all.
