  • Mailing DIMIA????

    Hello,

We've been waiting quite sometime to hear from DIMIA regarding our
Police Checks and Meds. Unfotunately, the postie comes with all other
posts rather than the one I long for.

I am planning to write to DIMIA about the status of my applications
since I am over the 50 weeks processing time as mentioned in the
    acknowledgement.

Has anyone in similar situation written to their COs or DIMIA. If yes,
would you be kind enough to advise on how to frame the mail?

Looking forward to your kind replies,

    Thanks and warm regards,

    to_oz

    Hi,

I have mailed them before but I had an case officer assigned so the
email went straight to him. You probably don't have one yet (or not been
told) if you haven't received a request for medicals. try emailing

    adelaid[email protected]

and they may be able to help you. I think you have a justified reason
for contact them to check the progress of your application. I know
people are worried about contacting them but quite a few people contact
them after only a few months and this is what frustrates the people at
the other end, especially when they are told it will take 50 odd weeks
to process. But you have been waiting that long so I'd contact them, you
could even give them a call, that might be better and at least put you
    mind at rest.

    Hope that helps.

      Hello Adrian,

      thanks for your inputs.

I thot as well that if I write in a polite mail, it should not backfire.
It seems ages and every single day adds to the frustration. Especially
when others from my country of origin with similar timelines have got
      their PCC and Meds call.

Since DIMIA is more or less without staff these weeks, I do not know
whether a phone call would actually make any sense. I'd rather put in an
email and wait for a reply.

Since you have written to them and got replies, could you help with
      framing the mail.

      thanks and regards,

      to_oz

To be honest, I would not send a long email. I would keep the email
short and to the point. Always include your file/reference number and
simply explain that you sent in your application on a certain date and
that the 50 weeks quoted had elasped and you had not received anything
correspondence from them since the application was sent and could you
give me a quick progress report of how the application is doing.

Like, I said keep it short and make sure that the first line includes
the fact that you sent your application in over a year ago.

          Thanks mate,

I guess, i'll hang in a couple of days more before firing that mail.
Somehow I have a feeling it could be anytime this week. If not, then
I'll take your tips and send one.

          Thanks for your inputs.

          regards,
