  • Incorrect hours paid, will not issue corrected check Missouri

I was recently on FMLA for my husbands surgery. I was paid with my vacation pay. During the FMLA time my employer required me to go to a 4 hour class and stated this would not effect my fmla/eto pay. When I received my paycheck it was short all hours after that class. (about 20 hours) They stated they did pay me wrong and I should have received those hours. They let me know they would add them to my next check. I explained that this shortage was causing hardship and I couldn't wait 2 weeks and needed the money immediately. They are refusing to give me a check early stating they do not cut checks except at payday. Is this ok?

Since your employer made the error, it's lousy on their part not to cut a special check but they don't have to. Yes, they can wait until your next regular paycheck to pay you for the vacation time.
