    If an employee is on Short Term Disability, does the employer still have to pay health care benefits for the employee? Does it depend on the Handbook policy?

    I've heard some say that Cal-COBRA should kick in after the employee goes on STD, and some say that it's "an option." Comments?

    By the way, FMLA does not apply in this case.
