  • ADA accomodation with a lower pay California

can we make reasonable accomodations for an employee with disability and lower their salary to reflect what a person with this modified job description would work? This is a salaried employee whose compensation is based on working certain hours and now there will be a 30% work hour deficit with the new accomodations.

The ADA is not going to require you to continue to pay him at a rate higher than you would normally pay for the position he is in. The ADA requires reasonable accomodations, not special privileges.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
